Founder & CEO
GHIG was formed in January 2019 by global hospitality and investment verteran, Kevin Colket.
Mr. Colket founded GHIG with a vision to create a platform to meet the significant unsatisfied demand for a pure-play global hospitality investment firm with world-class asset management, hospitality management and branding expertise that can acquire and drive superior value to hotel assets, hotel portfolios and hotel companies across major cities and tourist destinations worldwide.
Prior to founding GHIG, he spent 11 years working at Starwood Capital Group across the US, Europe and Asia Pacific regions—most recently leading the firm’s Asia Pacific Real Estate Acquisitions Group from its Hong Kong office. During his time with Starwood Capital, Mr. Colket held various hospitality group leadership positions including, Co-Head of the Global Hotel Acquisitions Group, Head of the Europe Hotel Group and Head of the Asia Pacific Hotel Group.
Preceding his role at Starwood Capital, Mr. Colket was the Director of Acquisitions and Development for Edinburgh Management, a U.S. based hotel joint venture with the Bank of Scotland.
Mr. Colket has underwritten countless transactions globally across the capital stack in hospitality assets (developments, re-positionings, roll-up strategies), hospitality portfolios and hospitality companies (private and public).
GHIG’s team of investment professionals bring extensive global experience from top-tier private equity funds, investment banks and sovereign wealth funds. They are supported by an industry-leading roster of operational experts across various hospitality disciplines including hotel operations, sales and marketing, revenue management and branding.
The GHIG team has deployed in excess of $7.5bn+ of equity since 2007, with a heavy focus on distressed hospitality assets achieving superior risk-adjusted returns for investors.
